This summer we will build solidarity ties
with Brazilian social movements while experiencing the uplifting and
energizing Brazilian environment and  
grassroots social and environmental justice projects.
Brasil 2008
Highlights include:

•        Environmental and Social Justice - MST – Movimento dos Sem-Terra - Landless
Workers Movement - the largest social movement in Latin America carrying out long-
overdue land reform – organic seeds, permaculture, popular education, projects
addressing poverty and sustainability, and the pros & cons of biodiesel.  

•        
Women’s Rights – Rio de Janeiro Women’s Rights Council, Movimento das Mulheres
Camponesas – Campesino Women’s Movement, public support to Women’s Rights and
Entrepreneurship, African-Brazilian sisterhoods and women-led communities.

•        
Racial Justice – Movements for racial justice, African-Brazilian history and culture,
youth and art, related public policies.   

We will travel with Brazilian activist and educator

Delegation organized in collaboration with the Friends of MST
and Brazilian community-based organizations.

Join this unique and amazing trip!
Cost: $1,950 includes hotels, two meals a day, in-country transportation, translation,
reading materials, Portuguese class, honoraria for host communities, speakers and
organizations. It does not include airfare to and from Brazil.
